Mr. Jacob Ellens

Jacob Ellens, AACI, FRI, was awarded the AACI designation in 1983 and the FRI designation (Fellow of the Real Estate Institute) in 1977.

Mr. Ellens began his career in real estate as a salesman for T. Gordon Wyllie Real Estate in Niagara Falls and subsequent to this was employed with the P. J. Harvey Realties in Brantford, an established and diversified real estate firm where he began his career as an appraiser. In addition to appraising, Mr. Ellens was also engaged in property management and real estate sales. In 1987, Mr. Ellens joined the firm of Barry B. Humphreys & Associates and specialized in the valuation of commercial, industrial and investment properties in the Greater Hamilton area prior to starting his own firm in 1989. Mr. Ellens has extensive experience as an expert witness before various courts and tribunals and has experience in expropriation, property tax appeals and general real estate consultation. Mr. Ellens is Past President of the Hamilton Chapter of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, Past Director of the Ontario Association of the Appraisal Institute of Canada and has been involved in various committees at the provincial and national level for the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
